Tryon Palace’s Fabulous Oyster and Pig Roast
    Saturday, February 22, 2025 • 6:30 to 8:30pm
North Carolina History Center • 529 S. Front St.

If you are craving plump, salty oysters, then Winterfeast 2025 is a must do for you! Tryon Palace’s popular traditional southern foodfest returns to the North Carolina History Center on Saturday, February 22.  Feast on bushels of juicy oysters, freshly roasted pig barbeque, plenty of savory sides, and enjoy live music by the Blue Gorillas, a spinoff of one of New Bern’s favorite bands, the Bonafides.  George Oliver and his clan of talented musicians will have you tapping your feet and wiggling in your seat!

Winterfeast is Tryon Palace Foundation’s must popular and successful fundraiser, and this is a great way to come out and show your support while enjoying traditional North Carolina fare and entertainment.  In addition to the bushels of oysters steamed to perfection by The Chelsea crew, Winterfeast attendees will feast upon savory pig barbeque, shrimp and grits, jambalaya, chowder, mac ‘n cheese, apple cobbler and other mouth-watering dishes prepared by many of our fabulous local restaurants.  All proceeds raised by the event benefit the Tryon Palace Foundation and their mission to support the Tryon Palace Historic Sites and Gardens by protecting, preserving, and developing the legacy of eastern North Carolina’s past with stories of our rich and diverse history to inspire today’s visitors and those of future generations.

Don’t worry about the rain forecast for Saturday!  Winterfeast takes place indoors at the North Carolina History Center and under a tent on Bate Commons overlooking the Trent River!  Winterfeast VIP tickets are $90.00 and offer one-hour early entry to the event at 5:30 PM, a logoed oyster knife with towel, and a drink ticket.  GA tickets are $60.00, with entry to the event at 6:30 PM.  Wine and beer will be available for purchase.  Don’t forget your oyster knives, but if you do, there will be limited quantities for sale.
