Once again, the New Year is almost underway and I’m searching for a resolution. I’m fresh out of ideas, and honestly, I kind of like myself just as I am. Would it be so terrible if I didn’t resolve to change anything in my life at all?
Signed,
Perfectly Resigned
Dear Perfectly Resigned,
Well, I think your idea is simply marvelous!
Acceptance of who we are and where we are on our journey, as well as simply staying present and grateful for our lives sounds lovely.
Here are some ideas to help you feel grounded, happy, and validated:
• Grab a Post-it and jot down three of your happiest memories from this year. Put it on your fridge to remind yourself that you’re living your best life.
• Print a recent picture of yourself that you like, put it on your bathroom mirror, and remind yourself daily that you are beautiful.
• Take a few moments at bedtime each night for meditation. Just breathe quietly before you fall asleep and choose a few words of affirmation.
So there you are! Problem solved. I hope this helps, and Happy New Year!
Love,
Henrietta
