Dear Henrietta,
I’m 19 years old and have just started my first year at the local community college. I really like it. I even met a girl that I would like to start dating, but I don’t have any money and worse, I don’t have much time to get a job. I still live in my parent’s house and they are helping me, but I’m frustrated. How can I earn some money to give me more financial freedom?
Signed,
No Money Man
Dear No Money Man,
What you need is a great side hustle!
There are all kinds of legitimate opportunities out there. But what is the right one for you? It really depends on your strengths.
Here are some options:
• If you have good English speaking and writing skills, you can be a proofreader on
Upwork or Fiverr, or tutor English online.
• If you are super savvy with social media, you can be a social media manager, helping
businesses increase their social media presence and attract new customers or clients.
• If you love shopping online, you can create your own Ecommerce store on Shopify
or Amazon.
• If you’re super short on time, you can even get paid just to take short surveys. Go to
Swagbucks or InboxDollars to get started.
• Not so techie, but love the outdoors? Pet sitters and dog walkers are always needed
by busy working people.
• Enjoy spending time with seniors or children? Hire yourself out for Senior daycare
sitting, or childcare.
• Super fit? Consider personal training!
• Love throwing parties, be a party planner!
I hope this helps and remember: when it comes to money, every little bit helps! Good luck!
Love,
Henrietta
