Dear Henrietta,
I bought a house on the river a few years ago and it has turned into a money pit. I’ve had to use all of my savings for the remodel. It has been my dream to be able to buy a boat someday, but I don’t have the financial resources to do it right now—and I even have my own pier! Can you please help?
Signed,
Mr. Dry Dock
Dear Mr. Dry Dock,
Here’s my best advice:
Build your own boat!
1. Get on to YouTube and search “how to build a boat from recycled materials.”
2. Start collecting recycled water bottles. You can decide on the size, but the bigger the better!
3. Buy tape. Packing tape is much less expensive than duct tape, but less stable, and you’re going to need quite a bit.
4. Tape together about five bottles at a time and tape them together so they create a flat surface. Start with the bottom of the boat, then begin building walls.
5. Once you have the basic structure finished, you can start decorating! String together some colorful flags for fun!
6. Now it’s time for the maiden voyage! Grab a friend and get ready launch! Enjoy!
I hope this helps and remember: necessity is the mother of invention!
Love,
Henrietta
