Dear Henrietta,

It’s December first and I’m already worried about the holidays.  I get so lonely and overwhelmed, and next thing I know, the joy gets sucked right out of me.  I’m young, only 25 years old, and I’m single—this should be a great time of year!  What can I do to bring back the fun of Christmas?

Signed,

Grinchy Guy

Dear Grinchy Guy,

Let’s start by identifying something you might enjoy.  Perhaps going hunting, ice skating or skiing?

Not the outdoorsy type?  How about hosting a holiday party for your friends instead?

Theme parties are really popular, so what about a Christmas craft cocktail mixing party?  Partaking in some unique drinks might be fun for everyone and get you into the spirit of the season.

Imagine an array of amazing holiday cocktails:  a hot buttered rum with coconut-vanilla ice cream balls, pear cider, hot toddies with charred oranges, a pomegranate French 75, a driven snow cocktail or a pumpkin spice white Russian?

If these sound delicious, go to CountryLiving.com/food-drinks for some fresh holiday cocktail recipes.

So there you are!  Problem solved.

I hope this helps, and remember:  “Calories don’t count at Christmastime” so indulge a little!

Enjoy your holiday!

Love,

Henrietta
