Everything Everywhere All at Once is an exuberant swirl of genre, a metaphysical multiverse galaxy-brain head trip, yet bittersweet domestic drama and comedy, a story of immigrant striving and a hurt-filled ballad of mother-daughter love. It is the story of a flustered immigrant mother (Michelle Yeoh) who is contacted from a parallel universe and told that only she can save the world. This unlikely hero must channel her newfound powers and fight to save her home, her family, and herself. This movie’s twists and kinks of hectic action sequences and flights of science fiction are a big part of the fun but the antic cleverness serves a sincere and generous heart. Spoiling it would be impossible; summarizing it would take forever…literally! 2023 Oscar Winner for Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), and Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), and Best Director (Dan Kwan)
