New Year’s Eve Block Party

The city of New Bern always loves a good party, and what could be more fun than a New Year’s Eve celebration in downtown! On Saturday, December 31st the festivities will begin at 5:30pm at the intersection of Pollock and Craven Street at City Hall.
This family-friendly event will include a DJ, a nice selection of food vendors, a kid zone area with games, inflatables and a magician. After dark, Imagine Circus, known for their engaging, electrifying and interactive performances, will provide entertainment and thrilling acts!
At 8:45pm, The Crush from Raleigh, often considered one of the best live bands in the Southeast, will be playing classic hits and today’s best top 40.
Like the famous dropping of the ball in New York City, New Bern has the “bear drop.” There’s one for the kids, aka, the “cub drop” at 9:00pm, followed by the big bear drop from the clock tower at City Hall at midnight, taking about 40 seconds to drop from top to bottom. Adults can purchase beer and wine provided by Craven Arts Council.
This event is free to the public and is sponsored by Riverside Auto Group and Channel 12. The New Year’s Eve Block Party is presented by New Bern Parks and Recreation.
