New Mural in Downtown New Bern

On April 27th, Craven Arts is looking for community help in painting a new mural titled “New Bern Strong.” The mural will be located on the side of Mike Rogers CPA at 328 S. Front St. Painting hours will be held from 10am to 4pm. Designed by Craven Arts, the mural depicts our community coming together as one under a silhouette of downtown New Bern.
In 2018, “New Bern Strong” was coined by the residents of New Bern following the events of Hurricane Florence. It represents the city’s resilience, in a time where the community was challenged on multiple fronts such as livelihood and community strength. Mike Rogers CPA was one of the buildings affected by Hurricane Florence. The mural is inspired by these events and the community joining together to overcome them.
Participation is free & an all-day event, and participants are welcome to stay for as long or little as pleased, however, all participants will be required to sign waivers. The food truck, All About Churros, will be present serving food at assorted prices.
