Community Artist Gallery and Studios 

The CAGS featured artists for August 2024 are Belinda Scheber, Janet Draper, and Kimberly Daugherty. Scheber loves to work in watercolor and acrylic and uses these mediums to express God’s beauty in painting. She creates her distinctive watercolor paintings by using transparent washes of color to achieve the vibrant effect of batik on rice paper. Draper is a skilled artist who uses the brilliant colors of soft pastels to render her amazing paintings. Her favorite subjects are landscapes, flowers, marshes, and Ocracoke beaches. Daugherty is a fiber artist who learned the art of crochet from her paternal and maternal grandmothers. Kim, however, has taken that homespun art to another level by designing and using tapestry crochet to make beautiful handbags and baskets.

We will have live music for Art Walk in August. Stop in to chat with the artists and enjoy some refreshments.
