The featured artists at Community Artist Gallery and Studios for April are Annalee Ash, Karen Rawson, and Carmen Platek. Wonderful examples of their work will be displayed in the window near the gallery door. For April, the front window features artists’ works under the theme “Bring on Spring.”
Annalee Ash visited New Bern for 22 years before moving here permanently 7 years ago. Her art is represented at Carolina Creations and CAGS. Ash is the Community Liaison for the NC Plein Air Art Festival in New Bern. She enjoys oil, watercolor, and pastel and loves being outdoors painting mountains, meadows, seas and skies.
Karen Rawson attended the Art Institute of Chicago at age 13 and began a lifelong journey into art. She particularly loves painting outdoors and is a member of the Coastal Carolina Plein Air Painters.
Carmen Platek is a gifted potter and has had a love for different forms of art since childhood. In 1998, she discovered clay sculpting and pottery and clay-hand building. Each piece of beautiful pottery is hand crafted and meticulously assembled without a potter’s wheel.
The performing artist for April Art Walk is Dr. Paul, a singer-songwriter influenced by Buffett, U2, Paul Simon and many others.
