In the heart of New Bern there’s a place where the scent of freshly baked goods mingles harmoniously with the aroma of craft beer. This unique fusion of flavors and aromas is none other than The Bakery at Brewery 99, a recent addition to the Brewery 99 family. Owner, Pete Frey, adorned in his tie-dye apron, stands at the helm of this culinary adventure, bringing together his passion for both brewing and baking.
“I was a baker before I was a brewer,” Pete says. “I don’t know why I started with the brewery. I guess I like beer more than I like baking.”
With a background in baking, Pete’s vision for the bakery extends beyond mere pastries. While freshly made cinnamon rolls and pepperoni rolls grace the menu, Pete’s aspirations soar higher, envisioning a plethora of delights, from buttery croissants to daily surprises.
But for Pete, it’s not just about the food and drink; it’s about community. “We love to meet new people and want Brewery 99 to be a place anyone in the community can come to gather and break bread.”
The Bakery is located in Brewery 99’s brand new taproom building. It opens at 7am daily and offers coffee, tea, cinnamon rolls and pepperoni rolls all day.
